Sprint weekends: how to use extra data without overthinking F1 fantasy
A sprint is a dress rehearsal with DRS. It is not the Grand Prix with the lights you actually lock for.
What transfers, what does not
Sprint pace and Grand Prix pace share a car, not a fuel load or a tyre life. A driver who wins the sprint from pole is a strong P1 candidate. A driver who charges from P8 in the sprint may have used the tyres you needed on Sunday.
F1RaceDraft still locks on the Grand Prix start, not the sprint start. Do not enter a six on Friday night and forget the Sunday grid penalties.
DNFs in the sprint are a warning, not a lock
A broken front wing on Saturday can be replaced. A broken gearbox might not. Read the official word before you double down on a DNF for Sunday.
Keep the six small
Extra sessions tempt you to make extra moves. You still only have six calls. Use the sprint to rank your P2/P3 debate, then stop.
