Round 13
Italian Grand Prix 2026 fantasy preview: Monza calls that matter
Monza is power, DRS trains, and a first chicane that collects anyone who believes in gaps that are not there.
Podium shape
The Temple of Speed still blesses straight-line grunt. Qualifying close to pole matters, but the tow on the run to Rettifilo can reshuffle P2 and P3 more than people admit. Do not treat the front row as a finished podium.
Undercut attempts into the pit lane are violent here because you lose so much time stationary relative to cars still at 300 km/h. A driver who bottles a stop can fall off the podium without ever hitting a wall.
Fastest lap
Low downforce means a late soft can still find time if the tyres are in the window. Watch who has a free stop from a big gap — that is your FL candidate more than the person leading by half a second and nursing the engine.
DNFs
Turn 1 is a DNF factory when the pack arrives as a square. Pair a first-lap contact name with a power-unit risk if anyone is on an old spec after Spa and Zandvoort. Remember: if Monza finishes green and everyone classifies, the last two cars still fill the DNF slots on F1RaceDraft.
Lock the Italy six on the race page while this Grand Prix is the open round, then enter the Italy league. Spain waits until this one is done.
