How weather should change your F1 fantasy six
A 40% shower is not a reason to throw the championship leader out of P1. Standing water is.
Probability is not a monsoon
Radar apps love drama. If the track is drying and intermediates are a one-lap wonder, the quali heroes usually return. Change P2 and P3 before you change P1.
Wind at Spa and Silverstone does more to fastest lap than a light drizzle. A headwind on the Kemmel straight is a tow story, not a retirement story.
Wet DNFs are not random
Look at who starts in the pack, who has a twitchy rear in the wet, and who has already bin it in FP2. That is a cleaner DNF pair than ‘anyone in the rain’.
Safety cars in the wet shuffle the steps of the podium. Split constructors if you must keep a score on the board.
Lock time still wins
Five minutes before lights out is the last honest weather check. If you are still refreshing Twitter at T-minus-2, you already missed the lock. Set a timer.
