Two games
F1RaceDraft vs official F1 Fantasy: which game should you play?
One is a season-long portfolio. The other is six sentences about Sunday. You can play both.
What the official game optimises
Classic F1 Fantasy is a budget, a five-driver team, chips, and a season ladder. It rewards spreadsheet work and watching every practice. That is a feature if you have the hours.
It is also slow to teach a friend who only watches the race. They will bounce off price changes before they ever pick a podium.
What F1RaceDraft optimises
One Grand Prix. Six calls. Five-minute lock. A league that is just that race. You can explain it in a group chat in under a minute. There is no fee and no prize pot — it is fan-made, not affiliated with Formula 1, for people 18 or over.
You also get paddock mini-games (Lights Out, Pit Stop, Guess the Circuit, Pit Lane Limiter) that do not require a fantasy team at all.
Who should start where
If you already live in a budget game, keep it — and use F1RaceDraft as the Sunday side bet with friends who will never set a transfer. If you are new, start here: lock a six on the next race, then graduate to a full-season budget later if you want the extra homework.
What this note is
Fan-made, not affiliated with Formula 1 or the FIA. No entry fee, no cash prize. Intended for players 18+. The calls described above are F1RaceDraft rules, not an official classification.
